More about this guide

Review times range from about an hour on Coinvote to 1 to 5 working days on Coinranking and CoinGecko. The table compares what each site states on its official listing page; Coinvote is our own site, so we stick to their published terms and link to them.

Market data sites vs. community listing sites

CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko and Coinranking track prices of tokens that already trade and rank them by market capitalisation, so they suit projects after their exchange listing. Coinvote ranks projects by daily community votes and accepts presales, which suits the weeks around a launch. DEX Screener lists any token automatically once it has a liquidity pool and one trade.

Which site to start with

Before trading: Coinvote, and CoinGecko Preview Mode. Once your token trades on a tracked exchange: CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and Coinranking, which each review requests separately. Listing on several sites is normal and costs nothing on the sites compared here.

How this comparison is made

Each cell comes from the site's official listing or help page, read on the date shown, without paid placement. Sites whose terms we could not read that day are left out rather than guessed. Tell us through the contact page if a term changes and we update the table.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free crypto listing site?

It depends on your stage. For a presale or a token that does not trade yet, Coinvote lists for free and usually within an hour. For a token already on an exchange, CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and Coinranking are the reference market data sites, and their basic listing is also free.

Do CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko charge for listing?

Their basic listing requests have no mandatory fee. CoinGecko sells an optional Fast Pass that guarantees processing within 24 hours, and CoinMarketCap describes a tiered fee for faster processing of updates. Beware of third parties selling guaranteed listings.

Which listing sites accept presales?

Coinvote lists presales and upcoming launches on its normal pages, and CoinGecko has a Preview Mode for upcoming tokens. CoinMarketCap and Coinranking require the token to trade on an exchange they track.

How many projects are listed on Coinvote?

34,023 active projects are listed on Coinvote, 281 of them added in the last 30 days, with pages in 21 languages and a ranking based on daily community votes.

Listings are submitted by project teams and ranked by community votes. This is not financial advice: new tokens are high risk, always do your own research.

Crypto-assets are volatile and high risk: you can lose all your money. Coinvote is an information and community platform, not investment advice. Rankings reflect votes, and promoted listings are paid ads. Disclaimer Impersonation or content removal
