Coinvote v3: Community Boosts, streaks and the people behind the rankings

We shipped the third version of Coinvote this week. This post explains what changed and, more to the point, why — because a few of these decisions are going to look strange until you see the reasoning.

The problem we could not keep ignoring

Coinvote has run on the same mechanic since the start: you vote, the counter goes up, the ranking reorders. It works. It is also completely amnesiac.

Someone who voted for the same project every morning for eight months and someone who found the site yesterday left exactly the same trace: one vote, gone at midnight. We had communities organising themselves in Telegram groups to keep a project in the top ten, and the site had no idea any of that was happening. That bothered us for a long time before we did anything about it.

Boosts

A Boost is a vote that keeps working. Instead of counting once and expiring at the daily reset, it holds weight in the ranking for seven rolling days.

Here is the part we would rather show than describe. The daily ordering is literally this:

Fifteen. We went back and forth on that number more than anything else in the release. Too low and nobody bothers; too high and the ranking becomes a wallet-size contest. Fifteen means a Boost matters, and it also means a project pulling forty genuine votes a day still beats a project sitting on two Boosts. If that balance turns out wrong in practice, we will change it — and we will say so here when we do.

You are not supposed to buy these

Boosts cost 75 Nuggets in the shop, and Nuggets are earned, not bought:

Yes, boost packs are also on sale on the advertising page, and yes, that is revenue. We are not going to pretend otherwise. But the free path is the real one: three votes a day plus a login is six Nuggets, a decent week of posting is another thirty, and achievements pay in lumps from 5 up to 1,000. The daily cap of 80 exists so that nobody can farm their way to the top with a script — it is deliberately low.

Streaks, and why they punish you

Vote for the same project on consecutive days and your Nuggets multiply:

The reset is harsh on purpose. A streak that survives being ignored is not a streak, it is a badge for having signed up early. But we also know people travel, get ill, and forget. That is what Streak Shields are for: 100 Nuggets, absorbs one missed day, no questions asked. Buy one before you need it.

Streaks also feed loyalty per coin. Keep one alive and you climb the Fan levels for that project — and one person per coin ends up holding Top Fan. There is exactly one of those per project, and it changes hands.

The rest of it

Thirty-eight achievements, from your first vote to a hundred-day streak to writing something people actually read. Each pays Nuggets you claim yourself — we made that a deliberate action rather than an automatic credit, so unlocking one feels like something.

The community section has a proper feed now, with replies, mentions, a leaderboard and notifications, plus its own zone on each coin page so a conversation about a project stays attached to that project.

Create on Coinvote

V3 also takes you from discovery to creation. With the Launchpad you can launch a Solana token from your own wallet, then get its Coinvote page and community announcement instantly. Creators earn Nuggets too.

Launchpad transactions require a compatible wallet and blockchain fees. Nothing here is financial advice.

Coinvote in your Telegram

Add the Coinvote Tracker to your group for live votes, rankings and milestone alerts, so the community that organises itself in Telegram finally shows up on the site too. Weekly tournaments and card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments came along in the same release.

What we did not do

We did not make the ranking purchasable. Boosts weigh alongside votes, they do not replace them, and there is no amount of money that removes a community from the top of this site. A ranking you can simply buy is worthless to everyone reading it, and that includes the projects that bought it.

We also did not touch the vote itself. Still three projects a day, still free, still no wallet required. Everything above is built around that button, not in place of it.

Thank you

Every mechanic described here came out of something a community did first — the Telegram groups organising daily votes, the people who wrote in to ask why their eight-month habit counted for nothing, the projects that grew here before any chart noticed them.

The rebuild happened because you made the old version too small. Keep voting, keep your streaks alive, and boost the projects you actually believe in.
